Quartet Records has announced a soundtrack album for the Mexican adventure drama The Mighty Victoria (El Poderoso Victoria). The album features the film’s original music composed and conducted by Fernando Velázquez (The Orphanage, The Impossible, A Monster Calls, Hercules, Devil, Crimson Peak). The soundtrack is now available to order as a limited edition CD on the label’s official website, where you can also check out the full album details and listen to audio samples. A digital version will be available to stream/download here later this week. The Mighty Victoria is directed by Raúl Ramón and stars Damián Alcazar, Gerardo Oñate, Roberto Sosa, Edgar Vivar, Joaquín Cosío, Lorena de la Torre and Eduardo España. The movie is set in 1936 Mexico and follows a young railroad mechanic who sees his dream of becoming an engine driver cut short by the closure of the train route in his village and must decide between migrating to the U.S. and helping a group of villagers to build a train of their own. The drama opened in Mexican theaters last fall.
