Hildur Guđnadóttir (Joker, Chernobyl, Sicario: Day of the Soldado, Tar) is attached to score the upcoming drama Hedda Gabler. The film is written and directed by Nia DaCosta (Candyman, The Marvels) and will star Tessa Thompson in the title role. The movie is based on Henrik Ibsen’s famed 1891 stage play and follows the titular character as she navigates a house she does not want, a marriage she feels trapped in and an ex-lover who has reappeared in her life. DaCosta & Thompson are also producing the Orion Pictures and Plan B Entertainment production with Gabrielle Nadig (Little Woods, Standing Up, Falling Down). Guđnadóttir has previously scored last year’s Women Talking for Orion and Plan B. No production start date and release date have been announced yet for Hedda Gabler.
As previously reported, Guđnadóttir also has Kenneth Branagh’s A Haunting in Venice and Todd Phillips’ Joker: Folie à Deux coming up.
