David Arnold (Independence Day, Casino Royale, Stargate, Sherlock, Tomorrow Never Dies, Shaft) has been tapped to score the upcoming animated special Mog’s Christmas. The film is directed by Robin Shaw (We’re Going on a Bear Hunt) and features the voices of Adjoa Andoh as the narrator, as well as Claire Foy, Benedict Cumberbatch, Miriam Margolyes, Zawe Ashton, Maggie Steed, Gareth Berliner, Charlie Higson, Amelie Law, Teddy Skelton and Tacy Kneale. The short is based Judith Kerr’s children’s book of the same title and tells the story of a family cat who feels ignored on Christmas. Joanna Harrison wrote the screenplay for the Lupus Films production. Arnold has previously scored the animated short The Tiger Who Came to Tea Arnold for Lupus and the filmmakers. The composer who is also contributing a song to the special has confirmed his involvement on Twitter. Mog’s Christmas will premiere in the UK this Christmas on Channel 4.
Arnold has also recently scored the second season of Amazon’s Good Omens, which is set to debut on July 28, 2023.
Remember the good ol’ days when Arnold was regularly hired for features? Good times.
