Fernando Velazquez (The Orphanage, The Impossible, A Monster Calls, Crimson Peak, Mama, Devil, Hercules) has composed the original score for the new Showtime limited series Ghosts of Beirut. The show is created by Avi Issacharoff & Lior Raz (Fauda) and stars Dina Shihabi, Dermot Mulroney, Garret Dillahunt, Iddo Goldberg, Hisham Suleiman, Amir Khoury and Rafi Gavron. The 4-part spy drama, which features an innovative narrative approach augmented by journalistic research and documentary elements, reveals the origins of 21-year old Mughniyeh (aka “The Ghost”) who emerged from obscurity and was responsible for more American deaths than any other individual prior to 9/11. Issacharoff & Raz are also executive producing the project with Daniel Dreifuss (All Quiet on the Western Front, Guernica), as well as Greg Barker (The Final Year, Manhunt: The Inside Story of the Hunt for Bin Laden) who also directed all four episodes. Velazquez has previously collaborated with Barker on the narrative feature Sergio and the documentary The Longest War. Ghosts of Beirut will premiere on May 19, 2023 on Showtime.
