Composer Bruno Coulais (Coraline, The Chorus, The Crimson Rivers, Wendell & Wild, Winged Migration) is set to reteam with director Anne Fontaine (Coco Before Chanel, Adore) on the upcoming French drama Boléro. The film stars Raphael Personnaz as in the lead role of Maurice Ravel, as well as Jeanne Balibar, Doria Tillier, Emmanuelle Devos and Vincent Perez. The movie is set in the Roaring 1920s and follows Russian dancer/choreographer Ida Rubinstein as she selects Ravel to compose the music for her next ballet. Fontaine also co-wrote the screenplay with Claire Barré (Night Shift, A Bigger World). Philippe Carcassonne & Jean-Louis Livi (The Father, Maigret) are producing the project. Coulais has previously collaborated with Fontaine on such features as My Worst Nightmare, Gemma Bovery and White as Snow. Boléro just started shooting in France. No word yet on a release date.
