Stephen Rennicks (Room, Normal People, Frank, Good Luck to You, Leo Grande, Conversations with Friends) is scoring the upcoming BBC drama Best Interests. The show is created by Jack Thorne (His Dark Materials, Wonder, Enola Holmes) and stars Sharon Horgan, Michael Sheen, Alison Oliver, Niamh Moriarty, Noma Dumezweni, Des McAleer, Chizzy Akudolu, Mat Fraser, Jack Morris, Gary Beadle, Pippa Haywood, Shane Zaza, Lucian Msamati and Lisa McGrillis. The 4-part series directed by Michael Keillor (Roadkill) follows a married couple whose daughter develops a life-threatening condition and chronicles their fight that will take them through every stage of a legal process. Thorne is also executive producing the Chapter One Pictures production with Sophie Gardiner (Howards End, Little Women), Toby Bentley and Lucy Richer (Top of the Lake, A Very English Scandal). Best Interests will premiere this year on BBC One.
Rennicks’ other recent projects include The Quiet Girl, which received an Academy Award nomination in the International Feature category and is currently playing in U.S. theaters.
