Christophe Beck (Ant-Man, Edge of Tomorrow, Free Guy, The Hangover, Hawkeye) & Alex Kovacs (FEAR, Scattered, Getting Grace) have recently scored the upcoming Hulu original series Up Here. The show is created by Steven Levenson (tick, tick… BOOM!, Dear Evan Hansen), Danielle Sanchez-Witzel, Kristen Anderson-Lopez & Bobby Lopez (The Book of Mormon) and stars Mae Whitman, Carlos Valdes, John Hodgman, Katie Finneran, Sophia Hammons, Andréa Burns and Emilia Suárez. The musical romantic comedy is set in late 90s New York City and tells the story of one ordinary couple as they fall in love – and discover that the single greatest obstacle to finding happiness together might just be themselves. As previously reported, Anderson-Lopez & Lopez wrote the project’s original songs. They are also executive producing the 20th Television production with Levenson, Sanchez-Witzel, Jennifer Todd (Alice in Wonderland, Austin Powers) and Thomas Kail (Hamilton, Fosse/Verdon) who is also directing. Beck has previously collaborated with the songwriters on the Frozen movies and Marvel’s Disney+ series WandaVision. Kovacs co-scored several episodes of WandaVision with Beck. Up Here will premiere on March 24, 2023 on Hulu.
Beck’s recent projects also include Marvel’s Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania, which is currently playing in theaters and David F. Sandberg’s Shazam! Fury of the Gods, which will open in theaters on March 17.
