Composer David Sardy (Zombieland, 21, End of Watch, Premium Rush, Bright, Monster Trucks, Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance) is reteaming with director John Swab (Run with the Hunted, Body Brokers) on the upcoming crime drama One Day as a Lion. The film starring Scott Caan, J.K. Simmons, Frank Grillo, Marianne Rendón, Taryn Manning, George Carroll and Virginia Madsen follows a down on his luck man desperate to save his son from juvenile delinquency who finds himself on the run with waitress turned hostage. Caan also wrote the screenplay. Jeremy M. Rosen (Charlie Says, I Am Fear) is producing the Roxwell Films production. Sardy has previously scored the Swab-directed and Rosen-produced features, Ida Red, Candyland, as well as Little Dixie, which is coming out this coming Friday, February 3. One Day as a Lion will be released in select theaters and on VOD this year by Lionsgate.
Sardy’s other recent projects also include Mo McRae’s A Lot of Nothing, which premiered at last year’s SXSW Film Festival and is being released in select theaters and on VOD this Friday by RLJE Films.
