Clément Ducol (Little Tickles, I Wish Someone Were Waiting for Me Somewhere, Maestro) is set to compose the original score for the upcoming musical crime comedy Emilia Perez. French singer/songwriter Camille (Corsage) has written the original songs for the film written and directed by Jacques Audiard (A Prophet, The Sisters Brothers) and will star Karla Sofia Gascón, Selena Gomez and Zoe Saldaña. The movie revolves around a feared Mexican cartel leader who has a sex change to get away from the law and become the woman he’s always wanted to be. Audiard is also producing the project with Valérie Schermann (Paris, 13th District, Valérie Schermann) for Page 114, alongside Pascal Caucheteux (Jackie, You Were Never Really Here) for Why Not Productions. Emilia Perez is set to shoot this spring. A release in 2024 is expected. (Variety)
