René Aubry (The Gruffalo, The Bears’ Famous Invasion of Sicily, Superworm, Zog, Room on the Broom, Under the Bombs) has released a soundtrack album for the BBC holiday animated special The Smeds and the Smoos. The album features the composer’s original music from the animated adventure and is now available to stream/download here, where you can also check out audio samples. The Smeds and the Smoos is directed by Daniel Snaddon & Samantha Cutler and stars Adjoa Andoh, Bill Bailey, Rob Brydon, Meera Syal, Ashna Rabheru, Daniel Ezra, as well as Sally Hawkins as the narrator. The Magic Light Pictures production is based on the book written by Julia Donaldson and illustrated by Axel Scheffler and tells the story of two aliens from two different families who have always avoided each other and fall in love. The special will premiere this Christmas in the UK on BBC One and on BBC iPlayer.
