MovieScore Media’s Reality Bytes will release a soundtrack album for the documentary The Automat. The album features the film’s original score composed by Hummie Mann (Robin Hood: Men in Tights, Year of the Comet, Dracula: Dead and Loving It, Thomas and the Magic Railroad). Also included is the original song (Nothing Like the Coffee) At the Automat written and performed by Mel Brooks. The soundtrack will be released digitally this Friday, September 23 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. The Automat is directed by Lisa Hurwitz and tells the story of the iconic restaurant chain Horn & Hardart, which served affordable food to millions of New Yorkers and Philadelphians for more than a century. The documentary, which features interview with Brooks, Ruth Bader Ginsburg, Colin Powell & Elliott Gould, was released in select theaters earlier this year following its premiere at the 2021 Telluride Film Festival and is now also available on VOD and DVD.
