Chris Benstead has recently recorded his score for the upcoming action thriller The Interpreter. The film is directed by Guy Ritchie (Sherlock Holmes, Snatch, Aladdin) and stars Jake Gyllenhaal, Dar Salim, Alexander Ludwig, Antony Starr, Bobby Schofield, Jason Wong, Sean Sagar and Emily Beecham. The movie follows a sergeant on his last tour of duty in Afghanistan who is teamed with a local interpreter to survey the region, when their unit is ambushed on patrol. Ritchie also co-wrote the screenplay with Ivan Atkinson and Marn Davies. Ritchie & Atkinson are also producing the project for their Toff Guys production company, alongside Josh Berger and STXfilms’ John Friedberg. Benstead has previously scored Ritchie’s last three features, The Gentlemen, Wrath of Man and Operation Fortune: Ruse de guerre, which was originally scheduled to open in theaters earlier this year and currently awaiting a new release date. The Interpreter is expected to be released theatrically in late 2022 or 2023 by MGM and will be available to stream on Prime Video.
