Nicholas Britell (Succession, Don’t Look Up, Cruella, Battle of the Sexes) is scoring the upcoming biographical drama She Said. The film is directed by Maria Schrader (Unorthodox) and stars Carey Mulligan, Zoe Kazan, Patricia Clarkson, Andre Braugher, Samantha Morton and Adam Shapiro. The movie tells the story of New York Times reporters Megan Twohey and Jodi Kantor, who together broke the story that helped launch the #Metoo movement and altered American culture forever. Rebecca Lenkiewicz (Ida, Disobedience) wrote the screenplay. Brad Pitt, Dede Gardner & Jeremy Kleiner (12 Years a Slave, World War Z, Ad Astra) are producing the project for Plan B Entertainment. Britell has previously scored Plan B’s The Big Short, Moonlight, If Beale Street Could Talk, Vice, The King and the limited series The Underground Railroad. She Said will be released in theaters on November 18, 2022 by Universal Pictures.
Britell’s other upcoming projects include Lucasfilm’s Disney+ series Andor (to premiere on September 21), Barry Jenkins’ The Lion King prequel, Benjamin Millespied’s Carmen (premiering next month at the Toronto International Film Festival) and the fourth season of HBO’s Succession.
