Jeff Russo (Fargo, Star Trek: Discovery/Picard, The Night Of, Legion, Lucy in the Sky) has composed the original music for the upcoming comedy American Dreamer. The film is directed by Paul Dektor and stars Peter Dinklage, Shirley MacLaine, Matt Dillon, Danny Glover, Danny Pudi, Kimberly Quinn and Michelle Mylett. The movie follows a twice-divorced, frustrated and underpaid economics professor who gets an opportunity to fulfill his grand dream of owning a home when a lonely, childless, near-death widow offers him her sprawling estate for pennies. Theodore Melfi (Hidden Figures, St. Vincent) wrote the screenplay. Dektor, Dinklage & Melfi are also producing the project with Toyo & Emily Shimano, Kimberly Quinn (The Starling, El Camino Christmas) and David Ginsberg. American Dreamer will premiere this month at the 2022 Tribeca Film Festival.

Among Russo’s other current projects are Showtime’s The Man Who Fell to Earth, which currently airs every Sunday, Apple TV+’s For All Mankind, which is coming back for its third season this Friday, June 10, Netflix’s The Umbrella Academy, which will return for its third season on June 22 and Freevee’s Bosch: Legacy, which just finished its first season run and has been renewed for a second season.
