Deadline is reporting that actor/rapper/singer Utkarsh Ambudkar (best known for his lead role in CBS’ Ghosts) is writing original music for the upcoming Disney+ original movie World’s Best. The film is directed by Roshan Sethi (7 Days) is set to star himself, Punam Patel and Manny Magnus. The comedy revolves around a 12-year old math kid who vows to become the world’s best MC. Ambudkar is co-producing the music with Charlie B. Wilder. Savan Kotecha (Eurovision Song Contest: The Story of Fire Saga) serves as the project’s music director. Ambudkar also co-wrote the screenplay with Jamie King and is producing the movie with Thomas Kail (Fosse/Verdon, Hamilton, We Are Freestyle Love Supreme) and Kate Sullivan. World’s Best is set to start shooting this May. A release in 2023 is expected.
