Mark Korven (The Witch, The Lighthouse, Resident Evil: Welcome to Raccoon City, Cube, Them, The Terror: Infamy, In the Tall Grass) is scoring the new Epix original series Billy the Kid. The show is written by Michael Hirst (Vikings, The Tudors) and stars Tom Blyth and Daniel Webber. The adventure drama is based on the life of famous titular American outlaw, aka William H. Bonney , from his humble Irish roots, to his early days as a cowboy and gunslinger in the American frontier, to his pivotal role in the Lincoln County War and beyond. Hirst is also producing the EPIX Studios and MGM International Television production with Donald De Line (Ready Player One, The Italian Job) for De Line Pictures, Darryl Frank & Justin Falvey (The Americans, The Haunting of Hill House) for Amblin Television, Toby Leslie (Halo) for One Big Picture, as well as Otto Bathurst (Robin Hood) who also directed the first two episodes. Billy the Kid will premiere this Sunday, April 24 on Epix.
Korven is also expected to return the second season of Epix’s Chapelwaite.
Fantastic movie was a beautifully written score that straddle is both sides of the American/Mexican border. Especially struck by the lush orchestral offerings and the string arrangement!
Like this interpretation of Billy himself, this film score is tender, yet strong in all the ways that matter.
Congratulations to everyone involved!
Sincerely,
Professor Kevin McCluskey
