Grégoire Hetzel (Incendies, Summertime, The Midwife) has recently been recording his score for the upcoming French drama Brother and Sister (Frère et soeur). The film is directed by Arnaud Desplechin (Esther Khan, Jimmy P.) and stars Marion Cotillard, Melvil Poupaud and Golshifteh Farahani. The movie centers on the relationship between two siblings, an actress and teacher/poet who have been estranged for over 20 years when the death of their parents brings them face to face. The project is produced by Why Not Productions. Hetzel has previously scored numerous features for Desplechin, including Ismael’s Ghosts, My Golden Days, Oh, Mercy! and A Christmas Tale. Brother and Sister will premiere next month at the 2022 Cannes Film Festival.
Hetzel’s & Desplechin’s previous collaboration, Deception, premiered at last year’s Cannes Film Festival, and is currently awaiting a domestic distribution deal.
