Heitor Pereira (Despicable MeMinionsSmallfoot, The Angry Birds Movie, The Smurfs, Paw Patrol: The Movie, Beverly Hills Chihuahua) has recently scored the upcoming comedy The Valet. The film is directed by Richard Wong (Come As You Are) and stars Eugenio Derbez, Samara Weaving, Max Greenfield, Betsy Brandt, Carmen Salinas Lozano, Amaury Nolasco, Diany Rodriguez, Marisol Nichols, Tiana Okoye, Ravi Patel, John Pirruccello, Noemi Gonzáles, and Lunay. The movie is based on the French feature La doublure and follows a world famous movie star who faces a PR disaster when a paparazzi snaps a photo of her with her married lover and enlists a hard-working valet who accidentally appears in the same photo to pose as  her new boyfriend as a cover up. Rob Greenberg (Overboard, The Moodys) and Bob Fisher (Wedding Crashers, We’re the Millers) wrote the screenplay. Derbez is also producing the 3Pas Studios production with Ben Odell (How to Be a Latin Lover, Acapulco). The Valet will premiere on May 20, 2022 on Hulu.

Also coming up for Pereira is Illumination Entertainment’s animated sequel Minions: The Rise of Gru (to be released in theaters on July 1, 2022).
