Plaza Mayor Company will release a soundtrack album for the documentary Simple as Water. The album features the film’s original music composed by Hanan Townshend (Knight of Cups, To the Wonder, Blue Miracle, Outcry, Semper Fi, The Book of Vision). The soundtrack will be released digitally next Friday, January 14 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. Simple as Water directed by Megan Mylan (Lost Boys of Sudan, Smile Pinki) was filmed over the course of five years in five countries including Turkey, Greece, Germany, Syria and the US and explores the impact of war, separation, and displacement and takes audiences into Syrian families’ quests for normalcy and building a new life. The documentary, which premiered at last year’s Tribeca Film Festival and has recently been shortlisted for this year’s Academy Awards, was released in select theaters last fall before making its debut on HBO and is now available to stream on HBO Max.
