Jongnic Bontemps (My Name Is Pauli Murray, United Skates, We Are: The Brooklyn Saints, The Land, The Clark Sisters: First Ladies of Gospel) and Raashi Kulkarni have teamed up to score the upcoming Netflix original film Wedding Season. The movie is directed by Tom Dey (Shanghai Noon, Failure to Launch) and stars Suraj Sharma, Pallavi Sharda, Rizwan Manji, Sean Kleiner and Ari Asfar. The romantic comedy follows two Indian-Americans who pretend to date in order to survive a summer of weddings, but find themselves falling for each other as they struggle to balance who they are with who their parents want them to be. Shiwani Srivastava wrote the screenplay. Swati Shetty (Umrika) is producing the project for Samosa Stories, alongside Brian Grazer & Ron Howard (A Beautiful Mind, Apollo 13) for Imagine Entertainment, as well as Tony Hernandez & John Hedges for Jax Media. Wedding Season will premiere in 2022 on Netflix.
Bontemps also continues to score The CW’s 4400, which will return for the second part of its first season on January 17.
