Plaza Mayor Company will release a soundtrack album for the drama The Gravedigger’s Wife (Guled & Nasra). The album features the film’s original music composed by Andre Matthias (Gaza mon amour, Pursuit of Love, Centaur, Control). The soundtrack will be released digitally this Friday, November 12 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. The Gravedigger’s Wife is written and directed by Khadar Ayderus Ahmed and stars Yasmin Warsame, Omar Abdi and Khadar Abdoul-Aziz Ibrahim. The movie, which marks Somalia’s first entry in the Best International Feature Film category, follows a gravedigger’s struggles to raise money to pay for his wife’s surgery. The drama , which premiered at this year’s Cannes International Critics Week, is being released in Finnish theaters this weekend and is set for a theatrical release in several other international markets. No word yet on a domestic distribution deal.
