Chris Benstead is reteaming with director Guy Ritchie (Snatch, The Man from U.N.C.L.E.) on the upcoming spy thriller Operation Fortune: Ruse de guerre. The film starring Jason Statham, Aubrey Plaza, Josh Hartnett, Cary Elwes, Bugzy Malone and Hugh Grant follows a super spy who recruits Hollywood’s biggest movie star to track down and stop the sale of a deadly new weapons technology wielded by a billionaire arms broker. Ivan Atkinson and Marn Davies wrote the screenplay, with revisions by Ritchie. Atkinson is also producing the project with Miramax’s Bill Block (Halloween, Bad Moms, Fury). Benstead has previously scored Ritchie’s last two features The Gentlemen & Wrath of Man and also served as music editor and score arranger on the director’s Aladdin. The composer’s score has recently been recorded at Abbey Road Studios in London. Operation Fortune: Ruse de guerre is set to be released in theaters nationwide on January 21, 2022 by STXfilms.
