Michael Kiwanuka has recorded the original song Beautiful Life for the new Netflix documentary Convergence: Courage in a Crisis. The track is written and performed by the Grammy Award-nominated singer/songwriter and will be featured in the film directed by Academy Award winner Orlando von Einsiedel (The White Helments, Virgunga) who spotlights a cross-section of global citizens in the COVID-19 crisis. A first clip from the song is featured in the trailer embedded after the jump. The director’s regular composer Patrick Jonsson (Black Earth Rising, On Her Shoulders) has written the original score for the movie, which spans eight countries and nine individual stories and reveals the power of compassion and community in the face of a crisis. Von Einsiedel is also producing the project with Amy Hobby, Dan Cogan (Icarus) and Laura McNaught. Convergence: Courage in a Crisis will be released in select U.S. theaters on October 8 before premiering on October 12 on Netflix.
