Michael Abels (Get Out, Us, Bad Education, See You Yesterday, Allen v Farrow, Fake Famous) is set to compose original music for the upcoming biographical drama Chevalier. The film is directed by Stephen Williams (Watchmen) and stars Kelvin Harrison Jr. in title role, alongside Lucy Boynton as Marie Antoinette, Samara Weaving and Minnie Driver. The movie tells the true story of Joseph Bologne, Chevalier de Saint-Georges, the illegitimate son of an African slave and a French plantation owner who rose to  heights in the 18th century French society as both a violinist and composer, and champion fencer, only to face a downfall after a love affair with Marie Antoinette. Stefani Robinson (What We Do in the Shadows) wrote the screenplay and is also producing the Element Pictures production with Ed Guiney & Andrew Lowe (The Favourite, Room) and Dianne McGunigle (Atlanta) Chevalier is expected to be released in 2022 by Searchlight Pictures.
