Synth-pop duo Electric Youth has signed to score the upcoming drama North of Normal. The film is directed by Carly Stone (The New Romantic) and stars Sarah Gadon, Robert Carlyle, James D’Arcy, Amanda Fix, Benedict Samuel and Janet Porter. The movie is based on the best-selling memoir of the same title written by Cea Sunrise Person and revolves around a teenage girl raised in the wilderness who moves to the city hoping for a normal life with her anything but normal mother. Alexandra Weir wrote the screenplay. Kyle Mann (Edge of Winter, Wrecked) and Jonathan Bromfman (The Kid Detective, Stockholm) are producing the Independent Edge production. Electric Youth have previously contributed music to Anthony Scott Burns’ Come True, which was released earlier this year. North of Normal is currently in post-production. No word yet on a premiere date.
