Today, BMI (Broadcast Music, Inc) announced its 37th annual Film, TV & Visual Media Awards celebrating the top-performing composers in film, TV and visual media of the previous year. Among the honorees, which were revealed across BMI’s social media and digital platforms, are Atli Örvarsson who received six awards for NBC’s Chicago P.D., Chicago Med and Chicago Fire, CBS’ FBI and FBI: Most Wanted, and the Apple TV+ limited series series Defending Jacob, Mark Mothersbaugh who was honored with five BMI Awards for Bravo’s Dirty John, FX’s What We Do in the Shadows, Netflix’s Tiger King and the features The Willoughbys and The Croods: A New Age, as well as Mark Isham who earned four crystals this year for his work on the movies Judas and the Black Messiah, Honest Thief, Togo and the Hulu series Little Fires Everywhere.

Among the other winners are Atticus Ross who received a BMI Award for his work on Pixar’s Soul, for which he was previously honored with an Oscar, Golden Globe and BAFTA Award this year and R&B songstress H.E.R., singer/songwriter Tiara Thomas and songwriter/producer D’Mile who took home their first BMI Film Award honoring their Academy Award-winning original song Fight For You from Judas and the Black Messiah. BMI created three new awards this year, including the BMI Streaming Documentary Award, BMI Film Festival Award and BMI Streaming Film Award, recognizing the importance of these mediums and the composers whose musical works have contributed to these categories.

Other prominent composers honored include James Newton Howard (News of the World, Raya and the Last Dragon), Ludwig Göransson (Tenet, The Mandalorian), Thomas Newman (The Little Things, Castle Rock),  Brian Tyler (Yellowstone),  Nathan Barr (Carnival Row, The Great), Ramin Djawadi (Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan), Christopher Lennertz (Tom and Jerry, The Boys), Mac Quayle (9-1-1, 9-1-1: Lone Star), Anthony Willis (Promising Young Woman), Rob Simonsen (Blue Bloods), Sean Callery (The Marksman, Bull), Steve Jablonsky (Spenser Confidential), H. Scott Salinas (Warrior), Edward Shearmur (Falling Inn Love), Abel Korzeniowski (The Courier), David Wingo (The Report), Fil Eisler (Outer Banks), Kris Bowers (Raising Dion), David Buckley (Nobody, Unhinged), Jeff Beal (Walker), Trevor Gureckis (Servant, Hunters), Blake Neely (You), Aaron Zigman (The War with Grandpa), Will Bates (Unbelievable), Sonya Belousova (The Witcher), Chris Westlake (Solar Opposites), Kevin Kiner (Star Wars: The Clone Wars), Trevor Morris (Big Sky), Paul Haslinger (Monster Hunter), Anton Sanko (Siren), Genevieve Vincent (The Broken Hearts Gallery) and Alex Belcher (Extraction).
