Volker Bertelmann (aka Hauschka) (Lion, The Old Guard, Hotel Mumbai, Ammonite, Adrift, Stowaway, Your Honor) has been tapped to score the upcoming period drama Monte Verità. The film is directed by Stefan Jäger (Horizon Beautiful, Birthday) and stars Maresi Riegner, Max Hubacher, Julia Jentsch, Hannah Herzsprung and Joel Basman. The movie is set in the early 20th Century and tells the story of Hanna Leitner, a young woman struggling to escape bourgeois conventions who goes into therapy with the young psychoanalyst Otto Gross and follows him to Monte Verità, where she discovers the fascination of photography. Kornelia Naraks wrote the screenplay. Katrin Renz (The Hannas, Animals) is producing the Tellfilm production. Monte Verità is currently in post-production. No word yet on a release date.
