Antonio Pinto (City of God, McFarland, USA, Amy, Senna, Lord of War, The Boy Who Harnessed the Wind) is the composer of the new Apple TV+ original series The Mosquito Coast. The show is developed by Neil Cross (Luther, The Sister) and Tom Bissell, created for television by Cross based on the best-selling novel by Paul Theroux and stars Justin Theroux, Melissa George, Logan Polish and Gabriel Bateman. The drama centers on a radical idealist and brilliant inventor who uproots his family for Mexico when they suddenly find themselves on the run from the US government. Cross, Paul & Justin Theroux are also executive producing the Fremantle production with Rupert Wyatt (Rise of the Planet of the Apes, The Escapist), Edward L. McDonnell (Sicario, Insomnia), as well as Veritas Entertainment Group’s Alan Gasmer (Vikings), Peter Jaysen (The Dublin Murders) and Bob Bookman. The Mosquito Coast will premiere on April 30, 2021 exclusively on Apple TV+.
Pinto’s other upcoming projects include David Schurmann’s Aleppo. The composer has also recently scored Edson Oda’s Nine Days, which is set to be released in theaters this summer by Sony Pictures Classics, as well as Reinaldo Marcus Green’s Joe Bell, which is expected to be released theatrically this year by Solstice Studios.
