Varese Sarabande has announced the latest titles in its CD club series, including a new deluxe edition soundtrack for the 2001 thriller Along Came a Spider directed by Lee Tamahori and starring Morgan Freeman, Monica Potter, Michael Wincott, Penelope Ann Miller and Michael Moriarty. The album features the complete original score from the film composed and conducted by Jerry Goldsmith (Star Trek: The Motion Picture, Alien, Chinatown, The Omen, Planet of the Apes, L.A. Confidential, Patton), including almost 30 minutes of previously unreleased music, as well as bonus track of outtakes. The other new title is a deluxe edition soundtrack for the 1988 horror thriller The Serpent and the Rainbow directed by Wes Craven and starring Bill Pullman, Cathy Tyson, Zakes Mokae and Paul Winfield. The 2-CD set features the film’s expanded score composed by Brad Fiedel (The Terminator, Terminator 2: Judgement Day, True Lies, Fright Night) on the first disc and the original 1988 soundtrack album, as well as a bonus selection of additional music by Michael Babatunde Olatunji on the second disc.
