Harry Gregson-Williams (The Chronicles of Narnia, The Martian, Shrek, Mulan, Kingdom of Heaven, Man on Fire) is composing original music for the upcoming documentary Life in a Day 2020. The film is directed by Kevin Macdonald (The Last King of Scotland, Touching the Void) and follows the concept of the original 2011 Life in a Day movie. The crowdsourced documentary is compiled from 15,000 hours of footage captured on July 25, 2020 and submitted from 192 countries. Jack Arbuthnott (The Aftermath, Lords of Chaos) and Tim Partridge are producing the project. Ridley Scott serves as an executive producer. Matthew Herbert (Disobedience, A Fantastic Woman) is co-scoring the film. Gregson-Williams & Herbert have previously contributed music to the original 2011 film. Life in a Day 2020 will premiere next month at the 2021 Sundance Film Festival.
As previously reported, Gregson-Williams also has Ridley Scott’s The Last Duel and Antoine Fuqua’s Infinite coming up.
