Steven Price (Gravity, Suicide Squad, Fury, Our Planet, American Assassin) has started recording his score for the upcoming psychological thriller Last Night in Soho. The film is directed by Edgar Wright (Hot Fuzz, Scott Pilgrim vs. the World, Shaun of the Dead) and stars Anya Taylor-Joy, Thomasin Harcourt McKenzie, Matt Smith, Michael Ajao, Diana Rigg, Terence Stamp, Synnøve Karlsen and Rita Tushingham. The movie revolves around a young girl passionate about fashion design who mysteriously enters 1960 London, where she encounters her idol, a dazzling wannabe singer. Wright also co-wrote the screenplay with Krysty Wilson-Cairns (1917) and is producing the project with Nira Park (Attack the Block) and Working Title’s Tim Bevan and Eric Fellner (Atonement, United 93). The director has shared a video from the orchestral recording sessions at Abbey Road Studios in London here. Price has previously composed the score for Wright’s most recent movies, including Baby Driver and The World’s End. Last Night in Soho is currently scheduled to be released on April 23, 2021 by Focus Features.
Price’s other recent projects include the animated feature Over the Moon, set to premiere on October 23 on Netflix, as well as the documentary David Attenborough: A Life on Our Planet. which will premiere on October 4 on Netflix.
