Nainita Desai (For Sama, Enemy Within, Telling Lies, Fierce Queens, The Reason I Jump) has recently scored the new Netflix original documentary American Murder: The Family Next Door. The film is directed by Jenny Popplewell and examines the disappearance of Shanann Watts and her children, and the terrible events that followed. The movie is told entirely through archival footage that includes social media posts, law enforcement recordings, text messages and never-before-seen home videos. James Marsh (Man on Wire, The Theory of Everything) is executive producing the project. Desai recorded her score earlier this year with the London Contemporary Orchestra. American Murder: The Family Next Door will premiere on September 30, 2020 exclusively on Netflix.
Desai has also recently scored the Epix docu-series Enslaved, which currently airs every Monday night, as well as Netflix’s Bad Boy Billionaires: India.
