    Peter K

  2. Geoff says:

What was the Kate Bush song used in a flash back scene following the death of their daughter, Jane in hospital?

  3. Don says:

What was the music sung by the counter tenor in the Venice episode (2)?

  4. Matthew says:

What was the operatic music as Douglas walks around Venice?

    • willi says:

I think it’s Vivaldi – Cessate, omai cessate: “Ah, ch’infelice sempre” sung by Andreas Scholl or maybe Jakub Orlinski??

  5. Hi I’m really enjoying this new series but can anyone tell me what music is played for the trailer to this series regards Bryn

    • Simon Rahn says:

If your after the zylaphone song. It is by Hans Zimmer and called ‘Your so cool’. Originally used on the True Romance soundtrack.

  6. Andrew says:

What was the song played when Douglas was at the rubbish tip in series one? Must be an opera duet from somewhere? Thanks

    • willi says:

Mozart – Cosi Fan tutte – Trio “Soave il vento”

  7. Janet Wallace says:

Who sang at the end of episode 3 of Us and what was it called please,

    • willi says:

Kate Bush sang a little bit but the one I think you may mean is Schubert’s “Im Abendrot” – a lieder perhaps sung here by a mezzo-soprano, someone like Bernarda Fink??

      • Nick W says:

I’d need to watch it again, but almost certainly Bernarda Fink. Absolutely sublime. https://youtu.be/JthBYaiU8zU

        • chris says:

Fantastic. Was about to give up searching. Recognized it immediately as d799, one of my very favourite pieces of music. My much loved version is by Barbara Bonney. This I think is even better. As you say sublime. Thankyou

  8. Rob Parkes says:

Which Erasure track was playing in the flash back in episode 2? Thanks

    • willi says:

‘Always’ was taken from Erasure’s Number 1 album ‘I Say I Say I Say’

      • Rob Parkes says:

Thanks Willi, that track will be perfect for the first dance at my forthcoming wedding to the love of my life Tony! Thanks again.

        • willi says:

You’re welcome – that song takes me back some. Let’s hope no more restrictions on weddings then, Rob!

          • Rob Parkes says:

Let’s hope that a vaccine has been developed by then. Thanks for your speedy reply.

  9. Kathleen says:

Can you tell me the classical music ( soprano) played in episode 3 of US on bbc 1

  10. willi says:

In case anyone is any doubt, the song in Ep 4 of Us was ‘Who knows where the time goes’ performed by Fairport Convention (sung by Sandy Denny who also wrote it, I believe).

    • Kath says:

Thanks. I’ve just been searching for this. We knew it was Fairport Convention but didn’t know the song.

    • Lola says:

Thanks! I Remember that song. So beautiful.

    • ChrisBurgess says:

Thought it may have been Joan Baez , so thanks for that. yes , Sandy Denny did write it in her late teens-wonderful!!

  11. Rachel says:

Does Kate Bush sing on the soundtrack?

  12. George says:

What song plays in the Louvre, after they have finished looking at The Raft of the Medusa?

    • willi says:

It’s the intro of the lovely aria “Porgi Amor,” from Mozart’s Le Nozze di Figaro.

      • willi says:

By the way, I think the little bit before that was Purcell – King Arthur – Cold Genius’ Song (bass singing jauntily) but I may be wrong on that one!

  13. Denfa says:

  17. Neil says:

Does anyone know what the party background music is playing at around 15 mins into episode 1? It takes me right back to my Uni days!

    • willi says:

I think you mean Erasure’s ‘Always’ – see above response.

      • Neil says:

Thanks but no its not Erasure, someone more obscure. Its kicks off around the 15 minute mark on episode 1 during a flashback party scene.

  18. Neil says:

Yes that’s it! Thank you so much!

  19. Ben Ritson says:

Does anyone know the classical music playing when they’re on bicycles in Amsterdam (8m30) on way to Rijks museum?

    • Dan says:

I believe the piece you’re referring to is a one of Vivaldi’s mandolin concertos. Problem is I’m not sure which one.
