Variety is reporting that Walt Disney Studios is developing an original movie musical based on the song catalog of Lionel Richie. The film, which is tentatively titled All Night Long, will use some of Richie’s greatest hits in the live-action feature, which is being targeting a theatrical release. Pete Chiarelli (Crazy Rich Asians, The Proposal)  is currently writing the screenplay. Richie is producing the project with his manager Bruce Eskowitz. Cavalry Media’s Dana Brunetti (The Social Network, House of Cards) and Matt Del Piano serve as executive producers. Richie has previously contributed several original songs for movies and received an Academy Award for Say You Say Me from 1985’s White Nights. All Night Long is currently in development.
