Matthew Margeson (Kingsman: The Secret Service, Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children, Rocketman, Eddie the Eagle) has been tapped to score the upcoming Netflix original film A Babysitter’s Guide to Monster Hunting. The movie is directed by Rachel Talalay (Tank Girl, Freddy’s Dead: The Final Nightmare) and stars Tamara Smart, Oona Laurence, Alessio Scalzotto, Indya Moore, Tom Felton and Ian Ho. The family fantasy adventure is based on Joe Ballarini’s book trilogy of the same title and follows a first-time babysitter whose charge is kidnapped by the Boogeyman, when she discovers a secret society of fierce babysitters who protect children – and an entire world of monsters she will have to fight in order to save him. Ivan Reitman (Ghostbusters, Kindergarten Cop) is producing the Walden Media and The Montecito Picture Company production with Amie Karp . A Babysitter’s Guide to Monster Hunting will premiere later this year exclusively on Netflix.
Margeson has also recently co-scored Matthew Vaughn’s The King’s Man, which is currently scheduled to be released in theaters on September 18, 2020.
