Composer Emile Mosseri (The Last Black Man in San Francisco) has joined the crew of the Amazon original series Homecoming. He is scoring the second season of the show created by Eli Horowitz & Micah Bloomberg and starring Janelle Monáe, Stephan James and Hong Chau (who reprising their roles from the first season), Chris Cooper and Joan Cusack. Kyle Patrick Alvarez (The Stanford Prison Experiment) is directing all episodes. Horowitz & Bloomberg are also executive producing the project with Julia Roberts, Sam Esmail & Chad Hamilton (Mr. Robot, Briarpatch), Alex Blumberg & Matt Lieber & Chris Giliberti (Alex, Inc.) The first season of the psychological thriller, didn’t feature an original score and instead relied on pre-existing music by composers such as Bernard Herrmann, Pino Donaggio, John Williams and John Carpenter Season 2 of Homecoming will premiere on May 22, 2020 exclusively on Amazon Prime.
Mosseri has also recently scored Miranda July’s Kajillionaire, which premiered at this year’s Sundance Film Festival and is currently scheduled to be released on June 19 by Focus Features, as well as Lee Isaac Chang’s Minari, which also premiered at Sundance and will be released later this year by A24.
