Alex Somers (Captain Fantastic, Honey Boy, Aloha, Manhattan) is composing the original score for the upcoming Netflix documentary Miss Americana. The film is directed by Lana Wilson (After Tiller) and follows Grammy and American Music Award winner Taylor Swift as she learns to embrace her role not only as a songwriter and performer, but as a woman harnessing the full power of her voice. Morgan Neville (Won’t You Be My Neighbor, 20 Feet from Stardom), Caitrin Rogers (The Black Godfather) and Christine O’Malley (Wordplay) are producing the project. Miss Americana will premiere this month at the 2020 Sundance Film Festival and will be released later this year on Netflix.
As previously reported, Somers also has the drama Charm City Kings (also premiering at Sundance before opening in theaters in April) coming up.
