Broken Social Scene’s Brendan Canning & Ohad Benchetrit are the composers of the new Netflix original series Spinning Out. The show is created by Samantha Stratton and stars Kaya Scodelario, Evan Roderick, January Jones, Will Kemp, Willow Shields, Amanda Zhou, Svetlana Efremova, Mitchell Edwards and Jonathan Van Ness. The drama follows a figure skating Olympic hopeful who struggles to balance love, family and fragile mental health as her dream of winning takes a dizzying hold. Stratton is also executive producing the project with Joby Harold (King Arthur: Legend of the Sword, Underground) & Tory Tunnell (Holy Rollers) and Lara Olsen (Reign). Jody Colero serves as the series’ music producer. Canning has previously scored a number of films, including Paul Schrader’s 2013 feature The Canyons. Benchetrit’s previous scoring credits include Daydream Nation, Braven and Road to Paloma. Spinning Out is premiering today exclusively on Netflix.
