Vincent Jones (Up All Night, Parks & Recreation theme song) has signed on to score the upcoming Netflix original series Black Excellence (#blackexcellence). The show is created by Kenya Barris (Black-ish, Girls Trip, Barbershop: The Next Cut) who also stars in the serires, alongside Rashida Jones. The comedy is described as “inspired by Barris’ irreverent, highly flawed, unbelievably honest approach to parenting, relationships, race, and culture.” Barris and Jones are also executive producing the Khalabo Ink Society production with Hale Rothstein. Jones is also scoring the Barris-produced Freeform series Grown-ish, which will return for its third season in January. Black Excellence will premiere in 2020 on Netflix.
Jones is also expected to return to compose the music for the fourth season of Netflix’s F Is for Family, which will also premiere next year.
