Mark Isham (Crash, Once Upon a Time, A River Runs Through It, The Accountant) has signed on to score the upcoming sci-fi comedy sequel Bill & Ted Face the Music. The film is directed by Dean Parisot (Galaxy Quest, RED 2) and stars Keanu Reeves, Alex Winter, Samara Weaving, Jillian Bell, Kristen Schaal, Anthony Carrigan, Kid Cudi, William Sadler, Brigette Lundy-Paine, Amy Stoch, Hal Landon Jr., Erinn Hayes, Beck Bennett. The movie follows the title characters when they are visited by a messenger from the future who warns them that only their song can save life as we know it. Chris Matheson and Ed Solomon (Men in Black, Now You See Me) wrote the screenplay. Scott Kroopf (The Last Samurai, Limitless) is producing the project with Hammerstone Studios’ Alex Lebovici & Steve Ponce (The Public, The Clapper). Steven Soderbergh serves as an executive producer. David Newman has composed the music for the original two movies, Bill & Ted’s Excellent Adventure and Bill & Ted’s Bogus Journey. Bill & Ted Face the Music is set to be released on August 21, 2020 by United Artists/Orion Pictures.
Isham’s other upcoming projects include Disney’s Togo, Mark Williams’ Honest Thief starring Liam Neeson and John Ridley’s Needle in Timestack. He also recently scored the Epix series Godfather of Harlem, which currently airs every Sunday night.
David Newman is still alive and still working and they went with someone else.
How in pluperfect hell do you fuck this up?
Maybe Dean Parisot didn’t enjoy working with David Newman on “Galaxy Quest.”
Or it could his conducting gigs?
