Kathryn Bostic (Dear White People, Middle of Nowhere, Toni Morrison: The Pieces I Am) has been tapped to score the upcoming Netflix original movie Holiday Rush. The film is directed by Leslie Small (Kevin Hart: What Now?) and stars La La Anthony, Romany Malco, Deon Cole, Sonequa Martin-Green, Darlene Love and Tamala Jones. The comedy follows a popular radio DJ who moves in with his aunt after he gets fired, bringing along his four spoiled children, and a plan to return to the airwaves. Sean Dwyer & Elizabeth Cullen (Walk. Ride. Rodeo.) are producing the project. Holiday Rush will premiere later this year exclusively on Netflix.
Bostic’s other recent projects include Chinonye Chukwu’s Clemency, which premiered at this year’s Sundance Film Festival and will be released in select theaters on December 25 by Neon, as well as Youssef Delara’s indie drama Foster Boy, which is expected to premiere in 2020.
