Dan Jones (On Chesil Beach, Shadow of the Empire, Any Human Heart, Lady Macbeth, The Miniaturist) has composed the original music for the new BBC One drama World on Fire. The limited series is written by Peter Bowker (The A Word, Capital) and stars Sean Bean, Lesley Manville, Jonah Hauer-King, Helen Hunt, Julia Brown, Zofia Wichłacz, Brian J. Smith, Parker Sawyers, Tomasz Kot, Bruno Alexander, Johannes Zeiler and Eugénie Derouand. The show follows the first year of World War II told through the intertwining fates of ordinary people drawn from Britain, Poland, France, Germany and the United States as they grapple with the effect of the war on their everyday lives. Bowker is also executive producing the Mammoth Screen production with Damien Timmer (Poldark, Victoria) and Helen Ziegler (The ABC Murders, Ordeal by Innocence), as well as Lucy Richer (Top of the Lake, A Very English Scandal) for the BBC. World on Fire will premiere this coming Sunday, September 29 on BBC One.
