Two new movies are opening in theaters nationwide this weekend:
Opening in around 900 theaters is the thriller Don’t Let Go directed by Jacob Estes and starring David Oyelowo, Storm Reid, Mykelti Williamson, Brian Tyree Henry and Alfred Molina. The film’s original music is composed by Ethan Gold (The Song of Sway Lake). Back Lot Music has released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score. Also opening wide is the drama Bennett’s War written and directed by Alex Ranarivelo and starring Michael Roark, Trace Adkins, Allison Paige, Ali Afshar, Tony Panterra, Hunter Clowdus, Brando Eaton and Michael King. Jamie Christopherson (American Wrestler: The Wizard, Running Wild, Dirt) has composed the film’s original music. No word on a soundtrack release. The movie follows a young soldier who is medically discharged with a broken back and leg and trains to make an impossible comeback as a motocross racer.
Opening in limited release is the political thriller Official Secrets co-written and directed by Gavin Hood and starring Keira Knightley, Ralph Fiennes, Matt Smith, Matthew Goode, Indira Varma and Rhys Ifans. The film’s original music is composed by Paul Hepker & Mark Kilian who have previously scored Hood’s Tsotsi, Rendition and Eye in the Sky. No soundtrack album has been announced yet. Also opening in limited release is the crime thriller Killerman written and directed by Malik Bader and starring Liam Hemsworth, Emory Cohen, Diane Guerrero, Mike Moh, Suraj Sharma, Zlatko Buric, Nickola Shreli and Julia Vasi. Julian DeMarre (Cash Only) & Heiko Maile (The Wave, We Are the Night) have composed the film’s original music. Varese Sarabande has released a soundtrack album featuring the composers’ score. Also opening in select theaters is the thriller Angel of Mine directed by Kim Farrant and starring Noomi Rapace, Yvonne Strahovski, Luke Evans and Richard Roxburgh. The film’s original music is composed by Gabe Noel (Adele and Everything After). No soundtrack album has been released. The movie, which centers on a woman on the edge who believes the daughter of a neighbor is actually her own, is being released in theaters and on VOD by Lionsgate.
Also opening in select cities is the thriller The Fanatic directed by Fred Durst and starring John Travolta, Devon Sawa, Ana Golja. John Swihart (Napoleon Dynamite, How I Met Your Mother, Table 19, Youth in Revolt) & Blvck Ceiling have composed the film’s original music. No word on a soundtrack release.
