Quartet Records has announced a new soundtrack album for the 1981 horror thriller Ghost Story directed by John Irvin and starring Fred Astaire, Melvyn Douglas, Douglas Fairbanks Jr., John Houseman, Craig Wasson and Alice Krige. The album features the expanded and remastered original score from the Universal Pictures production composed by Philippe Sarde (Tess, Quest for Fire, Lord of the Flies, The Bear), including almost 20 minutes of previously unreleased music. The label has also announced a new soundtrack album for Roman Polanski’s 1976 horror classic The Tenant starring Isabelle Adjani, Melvyn Douglas, Shelley Winters and Jo Van Fleet. The album features the film’s original music composed by Philippe Sarde, including tracks not used in the final edit of the film, alternates, as well as the album-specific montages prepared by the composer for an MCA album that never materialized.
