Ryuichi Sakamoto (The Revenant, The Last Emperor, The Sheltering Sky, Snake Eyes) is attached to score the upcoming thriller Born to Be Murdered. The film is directed by Ferdinando Cito Filomarino (Antonia) and stars John David Washington, Alicia Vikander, Boyd Holbrook and Vicky Krieps. The movie set in Athens and the Epirus region of Greece, where a vacationing couple fall trap to a violent conspiracy with tragic consequences. Kevin Rice wrote the screenplay. Luca Guadagnino & Marco Morabito (Call Me By Your Name, Suspiria) are producing the project for their Frenesy Films production company. Sakaomoto has previously scored the Guadagnino-directed short The Staggering Girl (starring Julianne Moore, Mia Goth, Kyle MacLachlan & KiKi Layne), which will premiere next month at the Cannes Film Festival. Born to Be Murdered is currently in production in Greece. No word yet on a release date. (Deadline)
