Gabriel Yared (The English Patient, The Talented Mr. Ripley, Cold Mountain, 1408) has composed the original music for the upcoming biographical drama Judy. The film is directed by Rupert Goold (True Story, King Charles III) and stars Renee Zellweger in the title role as Judy Garland, alongside Finn Wittrock, Jessie Buckley and Michael Gambon. The movie follows the legendary performer as she arrives in London in the winter of 1968 to perform a series of sold-out concerts. Tom Edge (Lovesick) wrote the screenplay based on the stage play End of the Rainbow by Peter Quilter. David Livingstone (Pride, Last Christmas) is producing the project for Calamity Films. Judy is set to be released on September 27, 2019. by Roadside Attractions and LD Entertainment.

Yared has also recently recorded his score for the Swiss drama Paradise War directed by Niklaus Hilber and starring Sven Schelke as Swiss explorer and environmentalist Bruno Manser. Hilber also wrote the screenplay with Patrick Tönz & David Clemens. Valentin Greutert is producing the drama, which will be released in Switzerland this fall.
