Heather McIntosh (Compliance, Z for Zachariah, One Dollar, 6 Balloons) is scoring the upcoming drama To the Stars. The film is directed by Martha Stephens (Land Ho!) and stars Kara Hayward, Liana Liberato, Jordana Spiro, Shea Whigham, Malin Akerman and Tony Hale. The movie centers on a withdrawn farmer’s daughter who forges an intimate friendship with a worldly but reckless new girl in 1960s Oklahoma. Shannon Bradley-Colleary wrote the screenplay. Kristin Mann (Poor Boy), Laura D. Smith (I’ll See You in My Dreams) and Erik Rommesmo (It Follows, The Hero) are producing the project. To the Stars will premiere next month in competition at the 2019 Sundance Film Festival.
As previously reported, McIntosh also has Riley Stearns’ The Art of Self-Defense starring Jesse Eisenberg & Imogen Poots coming up.
