Dan Romer (Beasts of the Southern Wild, Beasts of No Nation, Maniac) has recently scored the new Netflix docu-series The Innocent Man. The show directed by Clay Tweel is based on the best-selling non-fiction book of the same title by John Grisham (The Firm, The Pelican Brief) and focuses on two murders that shook the small town of Ada, Oklahoma, in the 1980s – and the controversial chain of events that followed. The series features interviews with victims’ friends and families, Ada residents, attorneys, journalists, and others involved in the case. Tweel and Grisham are also executive producing the project with David Gernert and Ross Dinerstein. Romer has previously collaborated with Tweel on the feature documentaries Gleason and Finders Keepers. The Innocent Man will premiere on December 14 exclusively on Netflix.
Romer also continues to score ABC’s The Good Doctor, which currently airs in its second season every Monday night, as well as Netflix’s Atypical, which will return for its third season in 2019. He also recently composed the score for the Jamie Bell- & Vera Farmiga-starring drama Skin, which premiered at this year’s Toronto Film Festival and is currently awaiting a distribution deal.
