Elliot Goldenthal confirmed in a recent interview on the Nikhil Hogan Show that he will be scoring Julie Taymor’s next feature The Glorias: A Life on the Road. The film stars Julianne Moore feminist icon Gloria Steinem and follows her journey to become a crusader for equal rights and her groundbreaking work as a journalist and activist. Alicia Vikander is reportedly also in talks to join the drama. Taymor also co-wrote the screenplay with playwright Sarah Ruhl based on Steinem’s memoir My Life on the Road. She is also producing the project with Alex Saks (The Florida Project, Book Club) and Lynn Hendee (Ender’s Game). Goldenthal (Interview with the Vampire, Heat, Batman Forever, Alien 3) has previously scored all of Taymor’s movies, including Titus, Across the Universe and Frida, for which the composer received his first Academy Award. The Glorias: A Life on the Road is set to start shooting in January of 2019 in Savannah, Georgia.
