Composer Nate Heller is reuniting with Marielle Heller on the director’s upcoming, currently untitled next movie, which tells the story of the real-life friendship that blossomed between Fred Rogers and cynical journalist Tom Junod. Tom Hanks is portraying Rogers and Matthew Rhys plays Junod. They are joined by Chris Cooper who stars as Junod’s father. Micah Fitzerman-Blue & Noah Harpster (Transparent, The Motel Life) wrote the screenplay. Marc Turtletaub & Peter Saraf (Little Miss Sunshine, Loving) are producing the project for Big Beach, alongside Youree Henley (The Beguiled, The Bling Ring). The Mr. Rogers biopic is set to be released on October 18, 2019 by Sony Pictures.
Nate Heller has previously scored Marielle Heller’s previous two features, The Diary of a Teenage Girl and this year’s Can You Ever Forgive Me?, which will be released in select theaters on October 19 by Fox Searchlight.
